31st INTERNATIONAL CARROT CONFERENCE
SEPTEMBER 11-14, 2005
 
OBJECTIVES

The International Carrot Conference is a biennial meeting for people interested in carrots, and is attended by representatives from private industries, researchers, extension specialists, and students from around the world. Topics will include pest management, production and new techniques and products. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss topics concerning all aspects of carrot production in formal presentations, poster sessions and breakout sessions. Also, scientists working on cavity spot of carrot are invited to present their research results during a symposium on that subject that will be held during the conference days.

Quebec ranks second in Canada for area planted in carrots after Ontario. Montreal is near the region called the Quebec Gardens, one large growing area in muck soil.
