Agronomy Department/North Central Regional Plant Introduction Station (NCRPIS), Iowa State University Ames, IA 50011 USA

The North Central Regional Plant Introduction Station (NCRPIS) in Ames, Iowa, USA is one of four primary Plant Introduction Stations in the National Plant Germplasm System (NPGS), and has responsibility for maintenance, regeneration, characterization, and distribution of the NPGS’s Daucus collection. There are currently 1370 Daucus accessions in the collection representing 31 taxa from 64 countries. The germplasm is maintained as seed and 1105 accessions are backed up at the National Center for Germplasm Resources Preservation in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. Characterization and evaluation data associated with the collection are available through the Germplasm Resources Information Network (GRIN) at http://www.ars-grin.gov/npgs. Small seed samples are available free of charge to research and education entities world-wide when genetic diversity or genetic standards are a requirement.
